SAFA suspends four NEC members pending disciplinary hearings

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has confirmed the immediate suspension of four members of its National Executive Committee (NEC), following a resolution taken by its Emergency Committee earlier this month.

The decision, initially taken on 13 March 2026, was later ratified by the NEC on 21 March through a round-robin process.

The suspended NEC members are Gladwyn White, Monde Montshiwa, Orapeleng Setlhare, and Emma Hendrick.

During their suspension, the four individuals will lose all membership rights and are barred from participating in any SAFA-related activities. This includes contacting other members, accessing SAFA premises and systems, or carrying out official duties.

SAFA said disciplinary proceedings will be instituted without unnecessary delay, in line with its governance frameworks and commitment to transparency and accountability.

The association emphasised that it remains committed to handling governance matters with integrity while safeguarding the interests of South African football at all levels.

Beyond the governance issues, SAFA said it continues to focus on football development, with several junior and senior national teams currently in camp as part of preparations for upcoming international tournaments.
