Six accused in e-hailing driver’s murder remain in custody

The case involving sis suspects in connection with the killing of e-hailing driver Isaac Satlat are expected to return to the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on 3 March 2026.

The 22-year-old was allegedly killed during a hijacking in Pretoria last week. The incident was captured on his vehicle’s dashcam.

According to the South African Police Service, preliminary investigations indicate that two passengers who had requested an e-hailing trip on Wednesday allegedly killed Satlat during a robbery. His stolen vehicle and body were later discovered in Atteridgeville on the same day.

The accused — Dikeledi Mphela, Goitsione Machidi, McClaren Mushwana, Tumishang Mabutla, Ofentse Senwamadi and Thabang Mothwa — are alleged to have acted with a common purpose in the murder.

Mabutla faces charges of premeditated murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances. Senwamadi has been charged with premeditated murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances as an accessory, while Mothwa faces a charge of robbery with aggravating circumstances as an accessory.

Meanwhile, Satlat’s family says it has raised R70 000 to repatriate his body to Nigeria following his death.
