Three people were shot and killed in a brazen attack in Joe Slovo on Saturday night.
According to the South African Police Service, the shooting occurred at about 22:30 on 21 February 2026 at the corner of Omarombo Street and Freedom Way.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a silver Toyota Avanza riddled with bullet holes. Inside the vehicle were the bodies of two adult women, both declared dead on the scene. The body of a 36-year-old man was discovered a few metres away.
A family member told police that the deceased man had previously been involved in the taxi industry, and that one of the women was believed to be his girlfriend.
The motive for the attack is still unclear and no arrests have been made.
The case has been handed over to Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Detectives, who are continuing the investigation.
