Matatiele— Two men, Iviwe Mathambo (33) and Motse Thamahi (30), are set to appear at the Regional Court of Maluti for allegedly attacking editor of the Informer Newspaper, Andile Nomabhunga,in January 2025.
Nomabhunga, based in Matatiele, was reportedly at home with his family when the attackers, wearing balaclavas, forced entry into his house at night. The editor was beaten with metal objects, while his children, aged 11 and 15, were also stabbed during the assault.
Mathambo and Thamahi face charges of attempted murder and assault with grievous bodily harm. Both suspects have pleaded not guilty. The case initially began at Matatiele District Court but was later transferred to the Regional Court of Maluti for further proceedings.
