A 64 year old woman brutally murdered by her son

In a developing and tragic case, 64-year-old Nombeko, a Technical Phone Official at Walter Sisulu University (WSU), has been brutally murdered by her son, Ntlakanipho Ndoda Phakathi. The crime, which has left the community in shock, is unfolding with new and disturbing details emerging.
Reports indicate that Nombeko was not only killed but also set on fire, with her remains allegedly fed to dogs by her son. During the attack, Nombeko managed to send a chilling recording to a close friend of her daughter, pleading for help. The recording has intensified the community’s anguish and horror.
Ntlakanipho Phakathi made his initial court appearance, where he showed no visible remorse. The heinous nature of the crime has prompted widespread outrage and concern about mental health and familial violence.
Ward Councilor Sindile Majikija has expressed his shock at the incident. He acknowledged that while investigators are still gathering details, comprehensive information is currently limited. “The situation is still developing, and we are awaiting more details as the investigation progresses,” Majikija stated.
