MENTALLY DISTURBED MAN KILLS A SECURITY GUARD
A mentally disturbed men has been arrested by police in Matatiele after he has allegedly killed a Security Guard. Nceba Bethuell Ndlela 44 who was employed as a Security Guard by Prestige Security company in Matatiele was hit with a knobkerrie on the head by this sick individual.
According to reports Ndlela was at work for a night shift on Tuesday when the incident happened. Eye witnesses said, the mentally disturbed men came out of a skitbin and hit Ndlela twice on the head when passing near the bin. He collapsed on the scene and was rushed to hospital by his employers. He died at hospital on Wednesday afternoon (last week). The perpetrator was arrested by the police on the same Wednesday.
Police have confirmed the arrest and said the men is going to appear in court shortly. Police Station Commander disputed the fact that this man is mentally disturbed as many has described him. Even some of Ndlela’s colleagues have described the suspect as mentally disturbed. “He is always walking up and down the streets holding two knobkerries with his hands. He always look for food in the dustbins. He is a well known person in town”, they said.
“This suspect does not seem mentally disturbed. He has responded like a normal person to all the questions and he is able to write his signature when requested to do so. We only hear it from the streets that he is mentally disturbed”, said Station Commander Sthonga.
Meanwhile the owner of Prestige Security, Ronald Viviers promised to take care of all the funeral expenses. Viviers described Ndlela as the most dedicated person at work. “He has been with the company for many years. He would come to work and make a lot of jokes before he even go to his post. We are very devastated as the company”; concluded Viviers.
