TWO GIRLS FOUND DEAD AT PONTSHENG, MATATIELE, POSITIVELY IDENTIFIED

Two girls who were found dead in an old church building at Pontsheng Location in Matatiele last week have been positively identified by their relatives. They have been identified as Andiswa Ndabeni 19 and Pindezwa Boyi 15 from Hasetsena Mpaki Location in Lesotho. Their relatives visited Mt fletcher Forensic Offices together with police on Tuesday.

In an interview with The Informer, Andiswa’s aunt Noasam Ndabeni said they last saw Andiswa on Saturday the 28th of January. “We were about to sleep when she just disappeared. We thought she has gone to the toilet but we were wondering why is she not coming back.

“We remembered that there was an arrangement , that Andiswa and Phindezwa are going to sleep over to another relatives’ home as the relative was sick and alone. On Sunday morning we found that they are both not at our relatives home and the sick relative said even Phindezwa left at night”, said Ndabeni.

She said they started to hear news of their death on Wednesday through social media but were not certain. “Another brother of ours who is working in Cape Town phoned us confirming the news of their death. He said he got the news from the South African police. That is why we are here today and we have positively identified them”, she said.

The two girls were discovered by learners who were passing by the old church building on their way to school. They were having bullet wounds on their heads. Police suspect that they were first raped before they were killed. Police recovered four empty cartridges on the scene. Police are still hunting the culprits.
