Police are monitoring a protest that turned violent in Ku Gompo on Monday following a demonstration by traditional leaders over the alleged coronation of an Igbo king.
The protest, which began as a peaceful gathering, escalated after some participants moved away from the city hall where a petition was being handed over.
Authorities confirmed that at least 12 vehicles have been damaged, while several buildings were set alight. No injuries have been reported at this stage.
