A 63-year-old woman has made her first court appearance following a gruesome incident in Bellville South, where the decapitated body of her 79-year-old sister was discovered inside her home.
The accused, identified as Rose, appeared in court after she was arrested on Thursday night in connection with the murder of her sister, affectionately known as Aunty Connie.
According to police, a murder case was opened after officers discovered the body at around 9am at a residence on David Street. The victim’s head was reportedly found in a Tupperware container, while the rest of the body was located at the property.
Authorities say the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
The case has been postponed to March 30 to allow the accused to apply for legal aid.
No family members were present in court during the brief proceedings.
Police have not yet disclosed a possible motive for the killing, and investigations are ongoing.
